I have a show coming up March 2 2012 at Launch Pad Gallery in Portland.

This particular show is different from how I normally hang an installation and what the concept is about. I am venturing into the world of site specific and spontaneity. The concept is poetic and has giving me the freedom to share my personal feelings and visions with strangers.

Our Statements:

In the waking world everything seems real. But in a dream state there are symbols and hints of reality. Grasping for the meanings can be tricky, and just when the mind can wrap around them new symbols will emerge.

The subconscious will allow for truth to be revealed. But what is this the truth?
How we see ourselves in others eyes,
What we expect from ourselves,
How everything we do affects something else,
What we see and hear……

This show is a record of time and space that I have personally moved through. A chain of thought and a diary that tells a story in symbols.
Suspended in a dream state or in reality just to catch a breath.

This suspension can only last for so long before the threads of life spin another web.

February is the month that I go out and prune my roses because in the NW usually we have made it through the worst of winter. It is a time to ponder and look forward to the sun inching its way back into our lives. And of course it is the month of cupid.

This year it also the month of my studio sample sale. I need to clear out my armoir and make room for new things. All samples from 2009 thru 2011 will be 30-50% off. I will be open on Thursdays from 12-6pm and by appointment. Stop by and find yourself a deal and a sexy treat for yourself or that special someone……

Year of the Dragon

The dragon in Chinese is an animal or creature of good fortune and protection. For the new year it is said to be the luckiest of the Chinese years.

This believe holds true in Buddhist tradition as well. See Tibetan dragon .

Interesting to note the dragon controls weather and in particular thunderclouds and electrical storms. I have been hearing all sorts of predictions for the big 2012 solstice ,end of the world thing and several have stated that there will be electrical issues that will cause damage but from solar flairs……..

So please get in touch with your inner dragon.

This December I went to Seattle to participate in my last photo shoot of the year. David Miller was the man behind the camera. His work has an alternative flair with an original artistic touch. I have two sets to share right now and more to come. First is Lanna……….

Winter Solstice

The wheel of the year keeps on turning and the sun is now at its lowest point in the horizon. Traditionally this time of year the Holly and the Oak kings trade positions. Although it is the shortest day of the year and therefore the darkest the Oak king promises the sun to return. So Celebrate for the sun will return and we will be renewed.

It seems in these modern times everything moves so fast and each year I find myself wondering how I got so much stuff done. I think it helps to love what you do.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me this year. Your words and actions keep me thinking that through all the corporate greed and political, environmental and fiscal issues that taint our world there is a seed of hope for healing and for bring that message to the masses.

Psyche – Fashion Show

This last weekend Branch and Birdie hosted a fashion show for my new collection “Psyche”. After the show we walked over to R.A.W. Textiles and celebrated the collection launch and mine and Daniel Medina’s Birthday. I have these pictures to share……
